hi I'm Wikt

I'm a cishet white guy born in Poland (he/him/僕).

My day job is an "application administrator" at a certain company - in practice I manage permissions and configure applications, especially Jira.

I like reading and discussing leftist theory and politics, I'm interested in anarchism and autonomism - a world of freedom and collective agency, liberated from states and corporations.

I also have approximate knowledge about a bunch of random topics like technology, language trivia, music theory. I occasionally dabble in drawing and playing guitar.

Currently into Hololive (my fave is Houshou Marine), VTubers in general and Final Fantasy 14.

日本語について

未だ色々勉強中…というか、練習言った方がいいかな。

どうやって日本語そこまで使えるようになったというと、自学自習。（というか大体自習）
勉強する前にただアニメを見ながら色んな言葉を覚えた。まともな話できる程度ではなかった。
２０１８年ある日、気まぐれで勉強してみようと思って始めた。最初は暗記をやって文法について勉強した。
ここからは頑張って日本語を使う機会に使って、自然な練習という方向にした。

I mostly learned Japanese by self-study, though it's mostly practice through immersion by now.

I started out as a typical anime fan, absorbing random words.
Eventually, on a whim in 2018, I decided to try some flashcards and study grammar.
From there, I eventually started finding opportunities to use the language in practice. That's where I am now.

I'm not very confident in my ability. Some people look to me for advice now, which sometimes worries me.
Keep in mind I have no credentials and I'm still relying on a lot of external sources myself.
